The environmental children’s and young adult comics cataloged in this database depict environmental issues and habitats from across the globe. Creating using the web-based mapping software ArcGIS, this interactive map displays the real-world settings of over thirty fictional and nonfictional environmental comics. This map helps users locate comics that feature environmental issues impacting particular areas, such as Canada or Yellowstone National Park. Additionally, the map draws attention to the unequal distribution of regions featured in environmental comics. Currently, this database primarily includes comics published and taking place in North America, though visitors can also find texts set in Colombia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and other locations.
